Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 17, 2026
Epoch Labs LLP ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website www.epochlabs.dev and develops mobile applications, including "Mumu-Check"—an automated safety check-in application. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information.
1. Information Collection and Use
We believe in "privacy by design." Mumu-Check was designed to keep your personal safety data under your control.
- No Personal Data Collected by Us: Epoch Labs LLP does not collect, store, or view your check-in status, emergency contacts, or messages.
- No Account Required: You do not need to create an account with us to use "Mumu-Check".
- Local Storage: Your check-in schedule, emergency contact list, and draft messages are stored locally on your device.
2. App Functionality & Data Transmission
The core function of the App is to notify your emergency contacts if you fail to check in.
- Text Messages (SMS): SMS notifications are sent directly from your device using your carrier. This data is handled locally by your phone's messaging app.
- Email Notifications (EmailJS): To send email notifications, the App uses a third-party service called EmailJS. When an alert is triggered, the App transmits the following specific information to EmailJS servers for delivery:
- Your Name (as entered in Settings)
- Your Emergency Contact's Name
- Your Emergency Contact's Email Address
- Ephemeral Processing: This data is transiently processed by EmailJS solely for the purpose of delivering the notification email. We do not use this data for any marketing or analytics.
3. Monetization & Third-Party Services
To support our development, we use the following third-party services:
- EmailJS: Used for reliable delivery of emergency email notifications. Please refer to EmailJS's Privacy Policy for more details on how they handle data transmission.
- Advertisements: This application does not contain nor display any advertisements.
4. Data Safety Compliance
In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety requirements:
- We do not "sell" user data.
- Your data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS when communicating with EmailJS.
- Since we do not maintain user accounts or central databases, there is no user data on our servers to delete.
